Both the beauty industry and the beauty trends have come so far. Some people say trends are repeated after every ten years or so. As of now we have countless brands in the market with multiple products to choose from – for different skin types, for various skin tones etc.
Back in 2016 glam looks used to rule both the internet & the beauty trends. Although things have certainly changed now, rather than look glam look people are shifting towards a more natural look now. We now have brands like Rare beauty, Fenty Beauty, Elf Cosmetics, Charlotte Tilbury, Huda Beauty, Milk Makeup and many more who offer products mainly focusing on a ‘All natural look’.
A recent survey was conducted by missrarity to see the varying trends and makeup products used amongst the ‘genzs’ and the ‘millennials’. We found out the the most popular brands amongst both the generations are — Rare Beauty, Fenty Beauty, Estée Lauder, Lakmé, Mac Cosmetics, Colorbar & Elf Cosmetics. Both the generations preferred natural looks over full glammed look.
The result also indicated that the most used products by both the generations were foundation, blush, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. The mid tier products were highlighter, eye shadows and concealer while the least used products were bronzers and contour products.
However another conclusion that came out of the survey was rather surprising. Majority of both the generations preferred makeup only during parties and opted for no makeup during working hours.
As someone who keeps an eye out for all the fashion and beauty treads, I’m excited to see where trends goes 10 years for now.
